Road Conditions
In the winter is will become necessary to call Cal Trans for a road condition report. They will advise the safest way to go and if chains are necessary. That number is 1 (800) 427-7623. Always carry chains in the winter, just in case you are lucky enough to get snow! Detailed maps and directions will be sent to you after reservation confirmation, shortly before your stay.

FROM ORANGE COUNTY:
Take the 5 to the 55 to the 91 to Riverside. Keep going North on the same freeway toward San Bernardino. Watch for the 10 Freeway East toward Redlands. **see below

FROM LOS ANGELES:
Take the 10 East toward Redlands **see below

FROM SAN DIEGO:
Take the 15 North, to the 215 North, to 10 East **see below

FROM the SAN FERNANDO VALLEY:
Take the 101 East, to the 134 East, to the 210 East, to the 10 East **see below

FROM PALM SPRINGS:
Take the 10 West to the Orange St exit **see below

FROM LAS VEGAS:
Take the 15 South, to Hwy 247. This will bring you to the town of Lucerne. Go past two stop signs and turn left onto Hwy 18, which leads up the mountain to the Big Bear Valley. Follow Hwy 18 approximately 6 miles to Stanfield Cutoff. Turn left, drive across the lake. Turn left at the stop sign, follow Big Bear Blvd to the Sugarloaf sign. Turn right there onto Maple Lane. Turn right on Baldwin.

**Get on the 10 Freeway East toward Redlands. Take the ‘Back Way’ to Big Bear. (Go past the 30 Fwy, do NOT take it.) The next exit is the one you want. That’s the Orange Street exit from the 10. Go straight at first stop sign intersection. Turn left on Orange St, and continue for about 10 short blocks or three traffic signals. Look for Lugonia, Route 38. Turn right on Lugonia. You will remain on HWY 38 for approximately 45 miles. You are almost there when you pass Williams Lake and then Erwin Lake. Then look for a small Sugarloaf sign. Turn left at the Sugarloaf sign, on Baldwin.
